This is a recipe for Russian Fisherman Soup. It is generally made from the day’s catch and is a delicious fish soup. You can put anything in the soup and it will still taste great – try to stick to the skeleton of the recipe and you’ll be ok.

Clean the fish
Grab a pot of water and put on the fire (stove)
Chop Onions, carrots and add to pot with peppercorns, 2 pinches of salt and bring to a boil
At the same time – chop the heads and tails off the fish – if you decided to filet the fish that’s ok just keep the spine
When the pot comes to a boil, add the head tail and spine. Boil for 10 min – if it doesn’t fit, do the heads first then spines.
Afterwards strain out everything so you have a nice broth
Bring back to the boil add the barely
When the barley is half done (taste it) add the potatoes
When potatoes and barely are done add chopped fish filets – they cook super fast
Serve with chopped dill, black bread, pickle and a few shots of vodka.
